Hey Meg, this is Simon from Plate Of The Day. I’m in Seattle for work for a few days. Can you recommend a good sushi place downtown? I’ve only been to Wasabi Bistro. Thanks.
Katy, me too!!!
Welcome to Seattle Simon! I hope you get to see the sunshine while you’re here. Let’s see… for downtown sushi I would recommend Sushi Kyo. I’ve only been there once, but it was really good. A lot of people also recommend Saito’s, but I had some not so fresh fish there, so I’m hesitant to return.
I hope you have a great visit!
but did you see that they also sell Bacon Band-aids? i need to get some specifically so people will ask me why i have a bacon band-aid on my finger.. my response.. well why the hell not?
bacony goodness
Tea – they Do sell bacon bandaids – and they look remarkable like your bandaid is not doing it’s job! (ie. when you put it on, it’s looks, well, bloody!).
I’m kinda dying to try that gummy bacon … Meg, you get some yet??
well, it is about time those gummy folks did this for you and EVERYBODY! well done…and although this is not germane to the gummy post but i volunteer at Fare Start – – we are big fans of yer blog and think it is time for you to come back!?!? whaddaya think Megan?! See you…
AMAZING!!! almost as great as bacon flavored chips
It really should be bacon-flavored, though, don’t you think? That way you could have bacon flavor any time of the day…
Megwoo, I’ve just sent the link to my husband who is, uh, a junk lover! I must say it looks great, though :)
Hi Tea, I received some bacon bandages for Christmas and they’re crazy. Not only are they printed with the bacon pattern, but they’re also cut out and have wavy edges like real bacon. I was mighty impressed.
Although I have to agree with Katy—when you put them on it looks like you have a gaping, bloody wound. Yikes!
Hi k.v.z.,
I’ve actually been to Fare Start for two more dinners recently—and both meals were fantastic! I really do intend to write about them… I just need about a month to catch up on my posts. Ugh!
Hi Gustad,
Uh, bacon flavored chips? WHERE CAN I GET SOME?!
I just checked out your site—you eat some crazy (and yummy) things! I’m curious about those chicken gizzards…
Hi PC,
Yes, it really should be bacon flavored. But maybe I could just mist it with my bacon spray.
NOOOOOOOO!!!
Hi Keiko,
Oh, if your husband is a junk lover, then he’ll LOVE Archie McPhee’s!! The online store is good, but the actual physical store (in Seattle) would blow him away… it’s packed floor to ceiling with the weirdest stuff!
Salut megwoo
I saw your question on my blog Cuisine Algerienne about steamers for couscous. Sorry it took so long to get back to you.
You can use a pot with a steamer insert, a stainless steel Thai fish steamer or you can buy a couscoussier from Sur La Table or an onlne vendor if you can’t find a vendor near you.
Everyone back up, take notice. Check yer pockets and stand ready.
I have bacon and I know how to use it.
Arrrrrr, take this you low fat galley lovers.
flavor, HO !
Biggles
Thanks for the info Farid!
Ha ha! Flavor, HO indeed Biggles!
hey megan…if and when you return to Fare Start, a couple of us would love to meet you – that is if you are not incognito! so, please introduce yourself! thanks for the continued support…whether you write about it or not.
i just found your blog, entirely by accident – but immediately recognized the gummy bacon – because i ♥ archie mcphee. and i think i ♥ “i ♥ bacon”! cheers!
k.v.z.,
That’s great! I will introduce myself next time I’m in… which will actually be on the 9th for Lisa Dupar’s guest chef stint. See you then!
Thanks Melissa!
I just checked out your blog… glad to hear Hank is feeling better. Poor, poor doggie!!
Well, there are bacon flavored Jelly Belly … (they’re in the Bernie Botts flavor mix)
I just came across your site via accidental hedonist… My boyfriend lives in Seattle and we spend a lot of our time eating. And a lot of that is bacon!
If you haven’t been to 22 Doors on 15th, I’d recommend it… At least at weekend brunch, they have a BLT that’s more bacon than L or T, and some of the best damned cocktails I’ve ever had. Erm, not that I have cocktails at brunch, nooooo.
Cybele – Bacon flavored jelly beans? Have you tried them? Do they really taste like bacon?!
Thanks Elizabeth!
I have only been to 22 Doors once, but the food was great! Although, I have to say, the service was slooooowwwwww…
I will definitely have to go back and try out that BLT!! Thanks for the tip!
David,
I’m so excited about those bacon truffles!!! Is there a place I can purchase them in Seattle? I only get down to Portland once or twice a year…
megwoo … um, I haven’t tried the bacon jelly beans, because, um, I don’t really like bacon. (I know, what am I doing at iheartbacon?) I just figured that you guys would be the ultimate arbiters of bacon jelly beans. (hee!)
Cybele,
That is so funny. What ARE you doing at my site? Ha ha. Maybe you’re just drawn to my obsessive nature, as you seem to have one as well—love your site!
I will have to track down some bacon jelly beans and try them out. Although, honestly, they sound pretty gross.
Lovely. I do hope you are getting some.
* wow.

New at archie mcphee: http://www.vermontbutcherblock.com/catalog/index.php?cPath=27. I picked up the Bacon bracelet, I’ll think about the carnivore one….
this could quite possibly be the greatest invention since the Bible
