Okay, I’m not quite sure when this happened, but it seems as though “Bacon Whores” has turned into the now, much more PC “Bacon Robots”:

Also, The Bacon Show just emailed me about their great new site which has the modest goal of “collecting and – eventually – cataloging every known bacon recipe”. My kind of site! Send in your bacon recipes!!

I feel like I need to admit something. The bacon I grew up with was Oscar meyer and it is the flavor profile I like the most. I keep trying all this PC Niman stuff and it’s ok but the fat never does that crunchy thing that i love.
any suggestions?
Shuna! That’s funny. I totally know what you mean though. In fact, I stopped eating thick sliced bacon because it would never get that crunch! For my ‘everyday’ bacon I eat Farmland bacon as it’s thinner cut and tasty. For special bacon days, I get slab bacon and cut it myself so I can get it thin. I also think that the stuff without nitrates doesn’t brown as much… so even though it’s better for you, I kinda avoid it. I’m so bad!
